I am so excited to begin offering the option of a lifestyle photo session for clients! What is a lifestyle photo session? Well, it's a session that occurs in your own home (not nearly as scary as you think!!) and aims to capture what is special about your everyday right now.Here's how it works: I send you a questionnaire once we book your session date and time. This questionnaire helps you think through the "little things" you'd like to document about your life right now. What does your family like to do together? What would you want to remember about this time of your life, about each one of your children? This questionnaire helps me to see what's special about your family and to know the kinds of things to capture.

On the day of your session, I come to your home. Your house does not have to be big or perfectly clean. It just needs a window or two (surely that doesn't rule anyone out!). Having pictures in your house is extra special because it's where most of family life happens! I will take a quick peek around the rooms and get a feel for the light.

And then we start shooting! I will gently guide, but mostly I am just there to capture what's happening. I'll spend about an hour with your family, without any need for kids to be still and smile at the camera! It's really all just a lot of fun!

The C family had me over to their home for a lifestyle session, and I am totally in love with their pictures. We were able to fit in some reading, some snuggling, a snack, and some playing and chasing while I was there!

Here's what she had to say about our session: I wasn't sure what to expect with an in-home lifestyle session. We have had family pictures taken before but that always meant that we met a photographer at a location instead of them coming to our home. An in-home lifestyle session allows a certain amount of comfort because you are in a familiar place. Laurie is very easy to work with and she made us feel like we were just hanging out instead of having our picture taken. I am so thankful to have pictures of our family together at home! We got to play and read together! Laurie captured those special moments for us and that is something that is special to us!
